i think that you should make a schedule for your running. Dont push it at the begining just say run for 1mile and then do that for 2 days and run for 2 miles the next two days and have days were you clock your self and keep working at it and i garrunte you will lose weight

If you’ve never run before..obviously don’t do a 30 minute run of you’ll **** it and never want to run again.
Start off running 15-20 minutes a day until that becomes easy, and then work yourself up in 5 minute intervals until you’ve reached your goal.
It also helps (for wieght loss purposes) to run 15 minutes more than once a day. That way you get the benefit of say 30 minutes of running but don’t have to do it all at once.
Take some days off here and there if you’re sore and bike, walk, or swim instead.
Good luck!
(MAKE SURE YOU EAT AT LEAST ONE FRUIT OR VEGETABLE OF EVERY COLOR EACH DAY. TRY TO EAT AS HEALTHY AS POSSIBLE - NO SODA, ETC- AND FOCUS ON HEALTHY PROTIEN AND WHOLE WHEAT)

good job trying to get active and lose weight…. just be careful not to overdo it. if ur not in shape for running yet go for a hike or a walk… very peaceful and it relaxes ur mind.. grab a friend to go to u still lose weight, have fun and are active. running is a great thing too (i run everyday) but if running isnt for u try different sports or activities
good luck!

Well I’m not sure how much physical activity you’ve done in the past or what your current physical condition is.
If you are an older person who is overweight and have never ran before, i recommend not running. It will ruin your joints very quickly, and pretty soon you won’t be able to do any type of physical activity.
As an alternative i recommend losing most of your weight by either riding a stationary bicycle, or by going swimming. Those activities are a lot easier on your joints and once you lose most of the weight, then you can start running.
Running is an activity more for those who are already in shape. It will not do you any good to try and run if you aren’t already in shape. I really recommend following my advice to either ride bicycle or swim… OR BOTH. =]
Best of Luck =]
