When I first start running on the treadmill, I have a terrible stinging in my legs can anyone relate?
May 19th, 2009 | by DistanceRunner |Everytime, I start running on the treadmill after not running for awhile, I get this horrible stinging in my legs that itches and burns. Today, I actually had to get off the treadmill. I am assuming it is a circulation issue. Does anyone ever experience this? I asked my doc about it and he said not to worry.

i assume that u didn’t do much walking or jogging prior to getting ur treadmill. i guess that the itching and stinging is due to your muscles being strectched after a long period of inactivity. i would advise you to take it easy and increase your pace slowly. the sensation is nothing to worry about. it will disappear itself after a couple of days

Its not a circulation issue, its a back issue, chances are your quads are becoming too strong compared to your back/abs/hams, and that’s throwing your back & hips out of alignment.
The issue then is nerves coming from your back and down your legs. even if your feeling the pain in your calf/foot, its probably starting in your back.
My suggestion is to go to a chiropractor and get an adjustment, also take a rest from running for a couple days and instead cross train, like swim bike or use an ellipticle.
