How do I get full time running a booth when I have to share it?

Our school holds a Halloween carnival every year. 5-8th graders get to run the booths. 8th graders get to have the first choice with what they want to run. A 5th graders parent is running it this year. Me and my friend want to be the fortune teller, but since the 5th graders mom is putting the carnival together she has to share it with us. It has been a tradition every year for the 8th graders to choose and now he have no say in it. What can I do to get my full time running the booth? Please answer by October 20th, Thanks so much!

Ask if you can sneak away and open your own booth. It does not have to be fancy. Just not in the same booth as the 8th grader. Move your chair outside the booth and start telling fortunes. Otherwise they are going to treat you like a little kid and let the 8th graders have all the fun..
