How do I go about developing running trails on forested land?

I am purchasing unimproved acrage to make trails for children to run on to develop their running skills. I would like help in developing these trails to get the most trails out of the space available. Your help is greatly appreciated.

And also, this site gives a step by step demonstration using pictures. As to where to acquire the materials or how to rent a polaris to move the material, I think might be another Yahoo! Answer.
