How Can I Keep on running with blisters?
March 8th, 2009 | by DistanceRunner |I just started running and on my first run, I come home with blisters on the soles of my feet!!!!
Is there anything I can do so I can keep on running? I don’t want to not run and wait for it to heal and thus lose what I gained from the run. I’m out of shape and I used to run in cross country but I keep on stopping running after I get into it but I want to stop it. I want to just run everyday. My body feels fine but my feet are sore to walk on.
THoughts?
Is baby powder what your talking about? LIke talc?

They have these blister type bandaids at the store that are thicker and bit better than regular bandaids. I just keep running and eventually I guess my skin gets tough.

When I was fitted for new walking/running shoes and had blisters the shoe guy told me I was wearing my socks too thick and didn’t have the correct support. He told me to put desitin cream or any baby rash cream on the blisters to keep the moisture away.
It worked ASAP!

You can keep running but I’m not going to advise you too.

blisters are caused by friction. your shoe and/or sock rubbing agaist your foot. you probably need better fitting shoes or simply tie them tighter (a common mistake).
when i used to play soccer i’d wrap my blisters in pre-wrap to pad them from the friction of my shoes. this allowed me to play fairly pain free. for blisters on your soles i’d say wrap your whole foot in pre-wrap and tie our shoes tighter.

use long socks, or use gauze pads or bandaids
