What’s a good home alternative to running through the neighborhood for exercise?

answer seeker asked:

I NEED exercise, and I want to run, cause for me, that’s the fastest way to burn calories. But, it’s just too cold for me to run outside, and i do not have a treadmill at home either.

So what can I do at home to burn as much calories as running?

Jumping Jacks, Jump Rope, Running in place are your main choices.

Tou can also do many strength exercises in your home. Dumbells are relatively cheap.

For around $30 bucks a month you can be a member at a gym and have access to all the cardio equipment you can handle.

In the order starting with most calories burned (all are less than running, unfortunately):

    1) Jump rope
    2) Stair climbing
    3) Aerobic dance/high impact aerobics/step aerobics

Good luck! Also consider a gym membership for treadmill access or weather appropriate running clothes. Your body heats up and adjusts pretty quickly with the right protective material.
