What’s the difference between running regularly and on a treadmill?

I heard a couple rumors that running on a treadmill won’t give you as good as results as if you were to run outside. Is this true? If so how?

It’s a lot different. On a tread mill, it’s carrying you the same time you run, so it’s easier, also you can adjust the softness and hardness of the ground, also the treadmill is even versus uneven grass and pavement.

Treadmill is a good way to get exercise, but if you’re trying to improve your speed then stick with going outside.

A readmill is helpful, but i believe that running outside is better simply because you have the elimates to contend with, such as heat, wind, rain, etc…….

because when you run outside, the ground doesnt move.
Its almost a whole different action. You dont have to push off on a treadmill, just wait for the belt to move your foot

Running on the treadmill is so boring. If you run on it everyday you will not ever want to run again. okay, so maybe thats pushing it a bit, but it is definetly better to run outside, mainly because its not so hot, but also because staring at a blank wall for an hour or so isn’t that great. outside you have hills and obstacles that will challenge you. inside on the treadmill you body will get used to the monotonous flatness and will stop building muscle because its not being challenged.
